      I think that’s kinda the point of their relationship, though. Diane is clearly set up to be the romantic interest and has lots of things in common with Diane - but they never get together, not even once; because this show is all about breaking tropes.

        Ngl, when I first watched the ending, I somehow missed Mr. Blue playing in the background and fully expected Diane to kiss Bojack as an act of self-sabotage, because this is sad horse show and we can’t have nice things.

        They even have them fidgeting a bit at the end, so that it looked like Diane moved slightly closer.

        I was so relieved when it cut to the credits lol.

    PC. Not because he loved her though. He would have gone back to her the way you keep wearing old shoes. They’re comfortable. Even though there’s a hole in the side and dirt on the shoe laces, you know what you’re getting when you put them on and commit to wearing them all day. And he would have let her give up a happy relationship with Judah for him, someone who’s settling for her.

    Wanda, after he went to rehab as their relationship was actually pretty good in season 2 when he was trying to improve himself, they mainly had a falling out when BoJack fell into his old ways

    I always shipped Bojack and Diane ngl. Not because it would be a great idea, but because it would be a terrible idea, and I want to watch that house on fire XDD But, they always had such great chemistry and I love how they are the only people to truly understand eachother because they’re both broken people, and I felt like that connection was pretty special. He had something truly raw and deep with her that he just doesn’t have with any other person we’ve seen.

    Of course, conversely, because they’re so similar they also tend to burn the place down along with them XD It’d only really work out with a like, 400k slow burn character development redemption arc where they both grow massively at people but alas, there isn’t much fic for them sadly lol. and i’m not much of an M/F shipper so i’m more busy writing toxic disaster lesbians instead xD

    I did also love their friendship though, and I also think it’s great the show showed a strong male-female friendship that didn’t have to be romantic. it was also pretty poignant that she took issue with him expecting her to save him when that’s too much for anyone to bear and wrong to put on someone, but damn, i still just loved seeing those moments where they help eachother’s inner demons despite myself xD

    So, I understand why they aren’t together, and it’s probably better that way, but i like ships that are complicated and messy bc it makes them more interesting xD i’m kinda ehhhh on diane getting with guy bc he’s just uninteresting to me. like he’s nice. but what’s there to write about when they’re all nice and perfect you know?? idk i guess my mind needs a good ship to have a story to it and a story needs some raw interpersonal conflict to really speak to me xD

    No one I guess? He wasnt emotionally and mentally available to be in any commited relationship tbh.

    At most, if im force to give a name, Id say Wanda, if he did something to improve himself (therapy) then I could see it working.

    If he hadn’t burned both bridges, either Wanda or Gina.

    If he was gay, either Herb or PB, but it’s pretty firmly established he’s not imo.
