I went to our local annual book fair a few days ago, and I pretty much got all of the books that I will be reading till next year’s fair. here’s a list of what I got:

  1. The Divine Comedy - Dante
  2. Emma - Jane Austen
  3. Jane Eyre - Charlotte Bronte
  4. A brave new world
  5. a certain hunger
  6. Lapvona
  7. The Book Thief

I have a feeling I will like all of them, to be honest I’m only worried about Lapvona, because I’ve heard conflicted opinions on it. but hey, I’m willing to give it a chance.

    You need to cut your hair or at least comb it. You don’t have time to watch TV, do the dishes. Are you ever gonna clean your room? What is going on with those shoes and that shirt.

    The Divine Comedy might take you well into the next year unless you have a special knack for it. Whose translation were you able to get?

    The first copy I was able to read was Allen Mandelbaum’s which struck me as beautifully written, if a little too dense for me. I remember liking John Ciardi’s (older?) translation more because it seemed simpler.

    Read all of these except for 5 and 6. Pretty good Greatest Hits collection. You won’t be bored for the most part. When most people talk about The Divine Comedy, they’re just talking about Inferno. Purgatorio and Paradiso suck so much
