What up with IGN and always giving lower scores for everything good? They gave Invincible a 7 because they said the plot doesn’t feel complete (not their exact words but you guys get it). Do they not realize that Invincible has two parts?

Not every game/animé/movie/TV show you love has to be fawned over and perceived to be perfect.
Just watch it and enjoy it, period…
For real. You’re speaking the truth. First of all, a 7/10 isn’t even a bad score (nor a “lower score” as OP puts it). And second, who cares if they didn’t like it as much as you did (not you specifically)? If you enjoy something, that’s ultimately what matters.
I’m already seeing people in this thread dismissing the review as just “rage bait” and “doing it for clicks.” I swear, it’s like people on the internet have a really hard time grasping the fact that other people can have different opinions than them.
IGN is such an easy target when it comes to this kind of stuff. It never fails to make me roll my eyes when a given fanbase/subreddit collectively shit on them for not giving a “good” review of a thing they like (but are quite jovial when they do review something positively).
Starfield is a pretty good example of your last paragraph. The US IGN reviewer gave the game a 7/10 the day before the early release and the subreddit collectively lost its minds over it. I got downvoted for saying “hey let’s wait just a minute, perhaps the game really is only a 7?”, because of course that was inconceivable.
After about 30 hours logged into it and consistently passing up playtime in favor of the other games in my rotation, I can definitively state the game in its current form is realistically close to being a 7/10. That may have been the most honest review of the game in existence, in retrospect.
The popular opinion for the consumption of entertainment seems to have this weird thing about anything being less than an 8.5 or a 9 being considered trash tier. You have to evaluate those ratings with the mental adjustment necessary to see what those numbers are meant to actually represent. A 5/10 should be considered a bang average game or film, and yet anything with a rating that low is considered to be an absolute failure. Some people are more honest in the ratings than others, but there’s no quick point of reference to compare for each reviewer. It’s a chaotic wasteland of different, competing schools of thought on that topic.
I think review scores can sometimes be associated with fans and with the thought that a negative score leads to another season/game/whatever media not being created
People with no lives wrapping their sense of the self into the things they like.

I will never understand it. It’s not like they said the show was bad either? It’s a 7/10 not a 2/10.
They got a lot of shit for giving Spider-Man 2 and 8/10 recently. A good score!
If you like it just move on, who cares what a reviewer thinks.
