It is deeply confusing.

I’ve seen people accuse each other of missing the point, but I’ll only share my own part:

me sharing that I always assumed that Ted Lasso suspected something about Rebecca in season 1 means I missed the point of the show. Huh? How…?
Is the whole point of the show that we should be completely blind to red flags of a manipulative boss?

Other example - when I point out all Roy Kent’s red flags and the hypocrisy of some fans - jumping on Nate’s red flags, but defending Roy, because Roy is more attractive, somehow I get accused of “missing the point of the show”…

Ummmm… what point?
The point of Ted Lasso is that when a tall, handsome Brett Goldstein-looking man does questionable, toxic things, we should just laugh, ignore it and be blind to it?

It seems to me that people randomly assume any bias they have is automatically “point of this show”.

    I think a central point of Ted Lasso is seeing past the stereotypes

    Ted really showed in the first season it’s not what people do to you it’s how you react to it

    I don’t think he was entirely blind to his boss subjecting him to an entire stadium calling him a wanker. That he chose to face it with amazing optimism and positivity was what shocked Crimm, Rebecca and eventually the fans of the club

    Roy Kent is special - he is probably the most beloved English football archetype, the type you both love and hate as a fan. The red flags exist in real life and fans in the know enjoyed watching Roy Keane possibly having a softer side doing yoga

    I think the “point of this show” (at least to me), is that no one is perfect, everyone is capable of both good and bad things and that people should not be judged by their worst actions.

    Ted was almost ridiculously optimistic and positive, yet snapped Nate’s head off when he tried to slide his suggestions under Ted’s hotel door.

    Rebecca started off as a vindictive bitch, using Ted to get her revenge but she had enough compassion to help him through his panic attacks, even before she apologised at the end of season 1.

    Roy hated Jamie and refused to coach him but he was the one to go to him and comfort him after his father abused him in the changeroom scene.

    I think it was all summed up nicely in the final diamond dogs scene where they talked about how nobody is perfect and we should just be striving to be better and asking for help when we need it.

      Even Rupert who didn’t go for the ‘super league’ after Rebecca touched him with memories of what is probably the only thing he’s ever truly loved. (Kills me to give him that much even.)

    If Jason Sudeikis tells you you’ve missed the point then believe him. Otherwise it’s just internets noise.
