Her scenes are tough to watch because it seems like she believes that she has finally found people that are beneath her and she’s treating them the way she’s been treated.
It’s definitely not okay but I think all of the insecurities of her life choices are showing up as a condescending bitchy MIL-to-be visiting the Philippines.

I think maybe there’s a part of a son or daughter that never gives up hope that their parent will approve of them.
And the societal “failure” or shame of not having a parent at your wedding, especially when you’re considering how your spouses side will judge it.
