I’m Indian. I shriek and have people remove geckos when they come into the house. Living somewhere tropical doesn’t mean everyones super okay with bugs. Her reaction is fine.
Right?! I was on the same page as her. I’m terrified of bugs and don’t think I could’ve stayed there.
Also, to her credit, she was relieved when she saw the house. It was just the bugs that (rightfully) freaked her out.

Her scenes are tough to watch because it seems like she believes that she has finally found people that are beneath her and she’s treating them the way she’s been treated. It’s definitely not okay but I think all of the insecurities of her life choices are showing up as a condescending bitchy MIL-to-be visiting the Philippines. The fact that Brandan invited her to come out is baffling to me.
I think maybe there’s a part of a son or daughter that never gives up hope that their parent will approve of them.
And the societal “failure” or shame of not having a parent at your wedding, especially when you’re considering how your spouses side will judge it.

1000% truth! I have known millionaires who are on more stuff than someone that’s homeless…Also what she said is just an unfortunate fact. Any person from America or similar country would be concerned with the living situations they filmed, especially when your son and soon to be grandchild will be living. I think his mom is worried too about her son being alienated from everything/everyone and being trapped with Mary alone…Something isn’t all there with Mary her looks/her eyes…she is a psychopath
Mary is a hypocrite. Brandon MUST respect her grandparents but she is so disrespectful to his Mom. She lied and said she tried to hug her ! Neither woman flinched when he told them to hug!
Now I don’t like Mary as much as anyone else does, but this lady… wow. She’s disrespectful, with her nose up in the air looking all over Lola’s kitchen. Disrespecting the only shelter some people have there. She’s coming across way more annoying than Mary and she’s 100% only there because the show paid for her to be there.
So often we see on this show a total cultural lack of awareness. It can be shocking to see how people live in poorer countries but there should be no judgement passed. People don’t choose to live in poverty.
And this lady needs to look at her own choices and see how it has impacted her son before passing any judgement. Drug addiction is a hard thing to overcome and I respect her getting clean but has she worked to help Brandon heal? Obviously not. That I will judge her for.
