Not going to lie, it didn’t hit as hard for me as I would’ve liked. For context, I’m show-only and don’t know what direction the story is going. I liked s1 because it was a superhero media deconstruction, and I was so anxious to see how the Mark and Nolan reunion would go. I get that he didn’t do it with a few “fuck you”s, but seriously, the first episode we get Nolan back they’re already teaming up together again? I would’ve loved to see that tension and the raw feelings drawn out more. Also they are way overusing the licensed music this season.
I like the set up for what’s next, but now I’m anxious that the show is going to slow down on any more deconstructing on that scale and instead start following some cliches/stereotypes. I’ll definitely still be watching to see how it progresses.
If the last two episodes of s1 were 10/10s, this is like an 7.5/10 for me.
I agree, not to mention it doesn’t even look that much better than season 1. I expected a big leap up this season after its success. I am getting tired of mid season breaks on principle. Stop trying to add artificial weight to certain episodes by saying “we’ll need a breather after this one!” I can handle some crazy shit without needing weeks to digest it.
