    Many libraries (at least in the US) allow you to have a librar card in the city/torn you live and the city/torn you work (if different). Then you can borrow more books or have more active holds.

    I also purchased my kindle secondhand. Mine is from unclaimed baggage but there are a ton of good priced, relatively new ones on ebay, too! It took my a bit longer to find the exact on I wanted, but I got my Gen 4 Paperwhite for $35.


  • I gave up on The Wishing Game by Meg Shaffer pretty early. I think I read the first chapter or two. The premise of the assistant librarian hanging out with her student (who was in foster care) and openly discussing her plans to adopt him and talking about all of the things they would do together when she becomes his mom gave me a weird ick.

    TONS of people on Goodreads and Tiktok raved about this book but I could not get past how inappropriate this plot point seemed?
