  • I lost the need to read every sequel early on with the Boxcar Children when I was young. The author wrote 19 books, then the estate let anyone dip ink into the world, didn’t like the change in flow of the timeline.

The Millennium series was one that did a decent job of adding novels after the passing of the author, at least the second trilogy, not heard much in the way of positives about the seventh.

  • Library book sales or other places that accept donated books, locally the art museum also runs a yearly book sale.

Used bookstores sometimes have a clearance shelf.

eBay sometimes you can find someone just selling a grab bag of books for cheap, the shipping could add up though.

Find your local recycling center, one of local ones takes books and puts them up on a free shelf for a period, if no one takes them they recycle the paper.

  • When I was young while reading the Boxcar Children I found out that the original author only wrote 19, when I started the 20th and the kids got younger I stopped. There are so many written now and while there are probably really good ones, don’t understand why they’re all over the place time wise.

Also don’t understand how Bourne turned into such an extended universe, I read the trilogy and stopped. That dude suffered enough, not sure how many more used him, if none did then maybe they’d be worth trying, he was used and abused let him retire in peace.

I did enjoy the second Millennium trilogy, felt there was a few avenues unexplored at the end of the original trilogy and that the new guy did a decent job. No real desire to read book 7, but I bought it in case I change my mind.
