My ex husband was awful and during our divorce amped up his awfulness 10 fold. I met my now husband online and he recommended Terry Pratchett’s Discworld series to me. I read the first 30 books in the series in less than 2 months during my divorce lol I wasn’t sleeping much anyway so I just read. Lifesaver. Or sanity-saver really.
Embroidery and other types of sewing.
It by Stephen King. I read it around age 11 and didn’t quite grasp the horror of it. Mosrly because the TV miniseries had recently come out and thats mostly just silly. Reread as an adult shortly before the new movies and holy hell that’s a frightening and weird story.
I don’t think people who are in r/books are necessarily representative of the people who never/rarely read. Maybe ask in r/askreddit
