The second book felt different but it definitely built my connection to the characters and offered a view of them living a different life than when we met them, which feels very personal.
I hated that she went into debt to Felix, but I loved her devotion to the women in her life. She might have been able to anticipate Victoria not working out so well, but she acted true to her self when she made the choice and I respect that.
I felt that her not killing Victoria was another instance of her being true to herself and her beliefs. Even if I did see it as a reasonable option in that circumstance.
I’m sure Rufus will find out- how could he not? And if this was set up to be a trilogy from the beginning, I have to brace myself in case Amara doesn’t make it out alive.
I’m looking forward to the 3rd book, but I’m a mood reader, so probably won’t read it immediately. It took me almost a year to get around to the 2nd book even though I already owned it.
