You’ll get downvoted, but its true. OOTP is a terrible book, and in large part because of that flatly written character.

My opinion is that it’s poorly written soap opera trash. The style doesn’t change as the book goes on.

I’m not sure how far into you are, but this book is a great case of unreliable narrator, so yeah, there’s inconsistencies. . .
