I see how Danielle’s language immediately went to fear when Yohan was visibly anger. I swear big men of certain complexions have to constantly pay attention to how they’re perceived. They’re never allowed to just exist and be upset or sad or mad.

But the important thing to remember is: Danielle lied, forced him to leave his job, didn’t support the butcher, and has no plans on working in the future either while sneering at him. Yohan has his issues but Danielle deeply disrupted his life and upended it in a way that people in poverty simply can’t have. Every dime she took from him was removed from the family. She’s so dense she doesn’t understand that this isn’t about him wanting the money, he needs it. She has wasted his employment and possible future employment, uprooted him and has left him worse off in every way. This was a vacation for her, for him it’s life.
