He’s taking it because he knows it will bother her the most. He’s been trying to play it cool but deep down he’s vicious, petulant child who’s only using her for money and a green card . And idc that he’s been "up front " about it because he hasn’t. He hasn’t come out and said just get me there and then we’re done. He’s playing up the relationship/marriage too to get what he wants.

Danielle holds a lot of responsibility for their situation, but I do think she was in it for the right reasons. Did he actually quit his job? Maybe I was imagining things (entirely possible!), but I thought that he, or the show, said he was taking a 1-year leave of absence. Because If that’s the case he hasn’t quit his job at all, he’s just taking a year off.
