Hahaha yes! US Soccer saw Canada book their match in November in Edmonton, so decided to book their match against Honduras in Minnesota in FEBRUARY! Temperatures averaged -17° C before wind chill. Twice as cold as when Canada played Mexico in November.
I like US Soccer trying to one up Canada, but it became an inhumane overreach. Two Honduran players were treated for hypothermia as their federation had limited experience and budget to accommodate their players upon arriving in Minneapolis.
Not really, no. They mostly try to book matches in the Midwest to avoid the dominant Mexican support they’d get from the crowd in other areas - not that Mexican support isn’t rampant everywhere, just relatively less.
Minnesota was the worst of it, but their most common home bookings against Mexico outside of the Western United States has been in Columbus and Chicago.
