I always shipped Bojack and Diane ngl. Not because it would be a great idea, but because it would be a terrible idea, and I want to watch that house on fire XDD But, they always had such great chemistry and I love how they are the only people to truly understand eachother because they’re both broken people, and I felt like that connection was pretty special. He had something truly raw and deep with her that he just doesn’t have with any other person we’ve seen.

Of course, conversely, because they’re so similar they also tend to burn the place down along with them XD It’d only really work out with a like, 400k slow burn character development redemption arc where they both grow massively at people but alas, there isn’t much fic for them sadly lol. and i’m not much of an M/F shipper so i’m more busy writing toxic disaster lesbians instead xD

I did also love their friendship though, and I also think it’s great the show showed a strong male-female friendship that didn’t have to be romantic. it was also pretty poignant that she took issue with him expecting her to save him when that’s too much for anyone to bear and wrong to put on someone, but damn, i still just loved seeing those moments where they help eachother’s inner demons despite myself xD

So, I understand why they aren’t together, and it’s probably better that way, but i like ships that are complicated and messy bc it makes them more interesting xD i’m kinda ehhhh on diane getting with guy bc he’s just uninteresting to me. like he’s nice. but what’s there to write about when they’re all nice and perfect you know?? idk i guess my mind needs a good ship to have a story to it and a story needs some raw interpersonal conflict to really speak to me xD

I like to headcanon him as bisexual too xD I feel like it would be funny if he just accidentally wound up with some dudes along the way telling himself it’s not gay if you’re too high to notice or care who’s blowing you xD

I don’t think he’d be aware of it though. He seems like the kind of person that could have enough cognitive dissonance to have banged a few dudes but still try to say it doesn’t count XD

Of course he doesn’t have a problem with gay people but it can feel like a whole other thing to accept that you yourself are gay xD

Also idk why people are giving you flak about the word fruity, I’m a lesbian and I and my other queer friends all use it too xD tbh it’s the first I’m hearing of it having originally been a bad word. I think people try to police our words too much instead of letting us decide ourselves on an individual level what words we like lol
