So I’m rewatching the show and I’m on episode 8 of the first season (The Telescope). During this episode we see Bojack and Herb’s friendship but theres a moment I want to talk about. At minute 12:59 Bojack asks Herb if he and his lovers ever “Link up and do, like, a fun party train or a fun circle?” And later he says “because I think I’d be doing that all the time.” Kind of a weird thing for him to be thinking about but it got me thinking, maybe Bojack is a bit fruity? I’m not saying he’s gay, obviously. He’s fucked almost every woman in Los Angeles. Then again there are things other than being gay or straight. Bojack could be a small bit bisexual with a heavy preference for women? What do you guys think?

    Bojack isn’t offended by homosexuality. In the 90s he made love to many, many women, often outdoors, in the mud and the rain, and it’s possible a man slipped in. There would be no way of knowing,

    No. He was just curious about the logistics. You can have questions about how something works even though you don’t have any desire to do it. I asked a lot of questions to the first openly trans person I met even though I am cis myself.

    he grew up with abusive parents in a very homophobic time so if he had any gay thoughts i’m sure they’d be wildly repressed with the rest of his trauma. i’m sure if it weren’t for all the Everything about him he’d be in love with herb. there’s definitely a queer subtextual interpretation to be had with bojack as a character.

      I’m certain Herb 100% had both romantic and sexual feelings towards Bojack but I really don’t think Bojack ever remotely saw Herb in that way, even after Herb’s attempted kiss. Imo during their best times Bojack only ever saw him as a close friend.

    I like to headcanon him as bisexual too xD I feel like it would be funny if he just accidentally wound up with some dudes along the way telling himself it’s not gay if you’re too high to notice or care who’s blowing you xD

    I don’t think he’d be aware of it though. He seems like the kind of person that could have enough cognitive dissonance to have banged a few dudes but still try to say it doesn’t count XD

    Of course he doesn’t have a problem with gay people but it can feel like a whole other thing to accept that you yourself are gay xD

    Also idk why people are giving you flak about the word fruity, I’m a lesbian and I and my other queer friends all use it too xD tbh it’s the first I’m hearing of it having originally been a bad word. I think people try to police our words too much instead of letting us decide ourselves on an individual level what words we like lol

    Even if he did come out, we wouldn’t claim him. He’d be just as predatory towards men as he is towards women.
