Life is too short to be bored by your book - DNF and stick it on the shelf for another try down the road, no shame in that!

When I first picked up PHM, it didn’t really grab me and I couldn’t get past the main characters “Gee Golly!” talk. I picked it back up after a year or so and I’m so glad I did! I was in a better mindset, left my judgements behind and it was great - it started to make sense why he’d be the type of person who would talk that way.

Sometimes you’re just not in the right mindset, sometimes you are and sometimes the book actually is just really freaking boring lol

I read this too this year, great book indeed!! I heard it was supposed to be adapted to a movie which is so exciting!

I have this book and it’s on my TBR list. I actually met her once, she came in to do a book club interview at my local bookstore - she’s amazing as a person! Very excited to read this, thank you for reminding me!

Ocean at the End of the Lane by Neil Gaiman. Such an incredible book - I listened to it on audiobook and it’s just absolutely beautiful and a bit heart crushing!

Absolutely love Annihilation - but couldn’t get through Authority. I’ll have to give it another shot!

Came here to say this! I know this book gets a lot of criticism because of it’s slow place and it’s a bit anticlimactic. I found the book to be so captivating and ethereal. It sits with me so much - I cried at the end after reading the final few pages. Just hits something so deep!
