We are biologically wired for connection and if our spouse (as an adult) or parents (as a child) isn’t attuned to us at all emotionally it’s viscerally distressing. I’m not referring to people who would prefer to have more emotional support or feeling listened to. I mean when there is zero true listening, attunement, and empathy.

Also always seemed kinda fishy with Chantel and Pedro meeting that way. I don’t know why but Chantel doesn’t strike me as someone likely to join something like that! Though her Spanish after knowing Pedro a little while was pretty good.
