I’m so confused.

I had no idea Sophie was a Black woman until this moment.

(In my defense, I haven’t actually watched the season, I’ve just seen screenshots on this sub.)

Also remember Daniele doesn’t have a wide vocabulary in Spanish. I think she speaks English sometimes because she doesn’t know the words in Spanish.

But also hopefully after months/years with her he’s picking up some English though he may not have confidence speaking it all the time.
