Is that the author overusing a word though? That seems like a character overusing a phrase, possibly to show how shallow he is or something along those lines.
He mentions urination a lot. Someone wets their pants at least once in most of his books.
Also “knocked up”, which meant to go to someone’s home and knock on the door
There’s a story where Holmes says to Watson “you knocked me up”
No author has ever overused a word more than Edward Gibbon in The Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire. He uses the word “insensible” or “insensibly” at least every other page, and I’m not exaggerating.
This is why libraries are still great. Take a risk. Don’t like it? No problem - you didn’t have to pay for that book.

It is pronounced like the peanut butter, according to the person who invented the GIF. If “the guy who invented it says it’s pronounced this way” doesn’t make that the correct pronunciation, I don’t know what does
There is no rule that letters in an acronym are pronounced the same as they are in the words they come from. That has never, ever been a thing
