I think the idea itself is fine, but the execution itself was terrible since it seemed the only reason he got messed up was cause he stopped it early. Noble of him sure, but if he really cared he’d have planned better. All that knowledge and he didn’t actually prep for when someone would come and stop them? On top of that, he could still use his powers while hooked up. Why didn’t he just use them on Mark to harmlessly put him to the side till it was done? Why not just go to a universe that wouldn’t have anyone to stop him? I guess he just got too excited and half baked the whole plan.
