It’s not hamfisted, it’s demonstrating a divide between being a superhero and being a skilled tradesperson. They are completely different skillsets, and the allure of being a superhero is flying in to save the day and then going home… but designing and constructing a building is a long and tedious process for good reason: because lives are involved, which means tons of liability.

Having an architect come with you isn’t going to solve the problem. The architect designs the building, but they don’t tell you how it’s built… at least not entirely. You need the engineers to figure out what specific parts and pieces you need in order for the structure to be safe for the long term. Bringing the engineers isn’t going to solve the problem either though, because they aren’t builders… they can tell you what parts and pieces you need, what welds should go where, but they aren’t privy to the nuances of construction and adapting design to reality.

Even if she had all the knowledge, it still wouldn’t matter… because a contractor was hired to build that thing, and they (along with the architect and engineers) are liable for it. They aren’t going to want some unaffiliated and unaccountable superhero coming in and doing their jobs for them… double if they are a union company. She would need to become a licensed contractor, and bid the projects herself… get the designs approved, then build it to those designs, then have it inspected and signed off. That’s not superhero work though.

I actually liked that Mark wasn’t super composed here, as the show has been pretty adamant that Mark hasn’t been processing any of this trauma… he’s been trying to hide from it with his superhero activities.

Nolan killed thousands, insulted his mom, beat him within an inch of his life and then fled. Nolan then tricks Mark into visiting him, tells him he’s started a new family and needs help protecting them and that he can never return to earth. I’d be beyond furious, but Mark wants to see the good in everyone so he’s going to fight with himself to find a way to love his dad again.

Omniman was the first person to get someone else’s blood on them… because Red Rush was punching his chest, not drawing blood (from Omni-man), so the only blood on Red Rush would have been his own.

He’s wrong about who started the fight, but only because the evidence doesn’t clue him in to what material took damage first, he’s only looking at how old the blood is.

A) He’s an extremely practical dude, and probably had robot cut his hair for him every week, while he’s in the suit.

B) He’s not going to change anything. He chose this specific body because Monster Girl found it appealing, and I think he’d be worried that she’d like him less if he changed.

That said, it would be sweet to see Monster Girl give him a glow-up.

Agreed, the point of him being there is to introduce the Reanimen (and demonstrate that Cecil is a ‘do whatever it takes’ kind). He could easily be written out and let Cecil’s team take the R&D forward without losing anything.
