I don’t like the character born good trope, which usually comes with battling someone I could have been trope. The reason this doesn’t work most of the time is because the “good guy” is usually just too dense to figure things out, alongside having a lot of convenient things happen in there life that takes away there ability to choose in the first place.

In a way 3 is the worst.
It’s not the quality of the books that the problem, you’re just wanting calmer introspective fiction dealing with the next stage in life that you’re heading into (I have been though these feelings).
You can comfortably read a book in 2-3 days, but from the sounds of it they could be skimming them.

If you are a regular reader I would presume it would be about 35-60 in a year (3-5 books a month).
