The immortal was probably the strongest thing on the planet until omniman showed up, excluding some very niche scenarios, no matter how old you are if you spend most of your life knowing you can solve things if it comes to blows then the moment you are powerless against someone you kinda just break mentally.

If game of thrones can do it, invincible can do it. I don’t see why they wouldn’t, this is a huge plot point for invincibles character growth.
