The Wheel of Time is an amazing book series, but I just don’t quite have the time to finish it. ChatGPT, can you create an abridged version of the Wheel of Time, that’s 1/3 the length of the original series?
That project might take a team of human authors multiple years to complete. But an AI could potentially finish that in, what, minutes or hours?
Scary.

Yeah, I’ve been reading a lot of Brandon Sanderson lately, his secret projects books. And I love his books, they’re great… but the prose is nothing special, at the sentence level (he admits as much).
Rothfuss, and George RR Martin have better prose.

The Pillars of Earth

This is a great read. Though its (many) sequels seem a bit rushed, formulaic. Sticking very closely to the formula of the original, they seem meant to cash in on the first book’s success.
Still, Pillars of the Earth is very good.
