I forgot how good his prose is. I’m not usually taken by that kind of thing. I read a lot of books with dragons and spaceships on the cover, but his similes and metaphors are so elegant and concise that every time they come up, I think, ‘Goddamn, I wish I could describe something one-tenth as well as that.’ I haven’t finished yet, but it’s also a fun story about how a fae keeps themselves occupied in the mortal world while they’re supposed to be laying low

    Ah, Patrick Rothfuss never fails to impress with his prose! Even as a lover of dragons and spaceships, his elegant and concise similes make me wish I had a fraction of his descriptive talent. Can’t wait to dive into The Narrow Road Between Desires!

      Yeah, I’ve been reading a lot of Brandon Sanderson lately, his secret projects books. And I love his books, they’re great… but the prose is nothing special, at the sentence level (he admits as much).
      Rothfuss, and George RR Martin have better prose.
