I can’t ever see myself doing this since I limit my book collection so I don’t overspend. If I, for some reason, wanted to get a different edition of a book I have because of differences in text or art, I’d probably either sell or give away my old copy. I guess I could understand buying different translations of a book to compare, but that seems like a bit of an edge case.

I don’t see him mentioned in the west much, but Faiz Ahmad Faiz was one of the greatest poets in the Urdu language and is popular both in Urdu and in translation across the subcontinent. IIRC he was nominated for a Nobel the year he died.
