I remember the A Wrinkle In Time books being a big deal to me when i was in elementary and middle school. I don’t even remember what i liked so much about them, maybe it was just the mix of scifi and fantasy elements, plus the authors writing style.
Loved that one. Never read LOTR although I attempted to. I challenged myself to read The Silmarillion more than once and i never understood what i was even reading (still finished it twice though). The Silmarillion reminded me of the Bible in that you can read a huge portion of it and not really grasp what you just read.
