Oh hell yes
First paragraph in Cannery Row is sublime
The first paragraph of A Tree Grows in Brooklyn…❤️
I know, right?
This kind of broke me. My dad loved Faulkner so much, and especially As I Lay Dying. During my late teens, he would talk to himself, as though he was William Faulkner, when he was drinking and writing. He was so funny and so eloquent. It was as if he was channeling William Faulkner. I loved it so much.
Do not know this. thanks!
I just started reading this…not at all what I expected, so far. I can imagine that the prose will be fantastic.
Is Astrid the mom? Also, Pnin is on my list to read
You guys came up with some great examples, and I was heartened to see so many favorites of mine. There’s so many new, to me, as well! Thanks!
