This one is great on re-reads, a lot of British humor is so subtle that it is funny as a kid but you catch more jokes as you get older.

The Terror by Dan Simmons. It’s a relatively long book but I would find any ounce of free time in my day to read it because it was right up my ally (I like horror fiction, I like polar exploration non fiction and this was a blend of the two)I think I finished it in a day and a half and was like “ah shit it’s already over”
