i feel like that would be fun but not as a spin off, as kind of ‘bonus content’. like how the creators of moral orel released a prequel special years after the show ended. it wasn’t a total spin off, just kind of a little treat for fans.

everytime this question comes up i have two answers.

moral orel, and big mouth.

moral orel was so ahead of its time, and adult swim pussied out when the show got too real for them to handle. it’s such a fantastically done show. the first season is hard to watch imo, but it’s important to watch it all anyway. i’m being intentionally vague with it because watching it blind is such a crazy experience.

i know big mouth seems like a weird rec, but my GOD has that show changed the way i view myself and the world around me. it’s such a brilliant concept, personifying these emotions/experiences in such a unique way. the main complaint i hear about the show is the gross out humor/inappropriate situations. personally, the way ive always looked at it/the way it feels is the same kind of sticky discomfort i felt when i was that age. it brings back these emotions i buried years ago, and made me realize that EVERYONE felt that way. (the a24 movie eighth grade is incredibly similar, just not animated). the second most common complaint i hear is the art style is ugly. which is true they fr a little fucked up looking. while the show doesn’t dive into substance abuse (use occasionally, but not abuse) it DOES go far into mental health and family/peer relationships. if you haven’t watched it i beg you to give it a try. if you have watched it then ignore this ramble LMAO.
