1 year agoDefinitely Jane Eyre. There were several books that particularly influenced my reading taste, but JE spoke to me in a special way, both in the ways she was perceived and treated as inferior by others; her rejection of this and pursuit of independence and self-respect no matter the cost.

Also…. Mr. Rochester has his, uh, flaws, but he’s hilarious and an incredibly vivid character. Their relationship >!pre-Bertha!< absolutely sent me to another level.
