BoJack is rude to everyone, a lot of the time. Including Hollyhock. He isn’t owed politeness and the things he did are not acceptable. He knew why she was distancing herself from him, he just didn’t know the exact reason.

I think timing is important, if BoJack reached out when Herb was first alone and needed someone then yeah I think Herb would have forgiven him. But the longer BoJack left it, the harder it was for Herb to accept an apology. And after a decade it was just never gonna happen.

I didn’t cheer but I was happy she prioritised herself and came up with a healthy boundary that she was happy with. I think she’ll always have some love for BoJack but time and time again he has let her down, so now he doesn’t belong in her close, trusted circle. He belongs with everyone else.

Not even a little bit. That party was important to Todd and he had firm boundaries for good reason. I’m glad he didn’t crave under pressure even with Vance being pushy. Plus I don’t think Todd was ever BoJack’s best friend.

Because he sucks. Don’t get me wrong, a lot of what BoJack did was inexcusable but Doctor Champ blamed his fall back into alcohol on BoJack so easily, and even when BoJack took him to another rehab he’s still drinking later on the show. He did not take responsibility for his addiction and would rather blame BoJack for ruining him. Whilst the mix up with the vodka was partly BoJacks fault he didn’t make Doctor Champ down it and evens tayed with him to keep him safe until he sobered up. Then he made the choice to go to a bar.

Also whilst I understand he’s not a real doctor so there’s no confidentiality requirements, it’s a dick move to tell other people what you learned about someone during therapy. It’s like a pretty obvious rule that what you learn in that setting is private. If he was really so concerned about BoJack’s past behaviour he should have reported it to the police, not some reporters.

I felt like I didn’t know Herb enough to be able to predict whether he’d forgive him or not. It would be the great sitcom ending which made me think Herb likely wouldn’t forgive BoJack, also I doubt BoJack would make enough of an effort for Herb to forgive him.

I was surprised how well they bantered which made me think I was wrong during the episode. But of course it all came crashing down and Herb’s lines were brutal.
