  • It’s hard to say really, because they’re all pretty good. If I had to pick one, I think I’d go with the original since it’s the most iconic, but I could really easily say the bluegrass remix from Seasons 6-10 is my favorite instead. The newest iteration is great too, but I definitely like it just a bit less. My least favorite is easily the techno remix from Seasons 4 and 5, which I’ve never been the biggest fan of, but it’s still not bad or anything.

  • Terrence and Phillip: Not Without My Anus. I’ve seen it ranked as one of the worst of the show, but I think it’s one of the funniest episodes pre-Season 4.

Also Season 2 in general is pretty underrated. Most consider it a weak point, but I think it’s still really good, even if it’s probably the most “unlike everything else” season in the entire show (even compared to the other early ones, it’s still really light). Rewatching it again, it’s STILL the best and most consistent early season.

Season 3 on the other hand I think is overrated. I’ve heard it touted as the place where “the show starts getting good”, but while it’s an important step in it evolution, whenever I watch it, I start enjoying most of the episodes considerably less. By far my least favorite of Seasons 1-3.

  • It depends on how you define “classic”. If you mean “the original style of the show”, then definitely I’d say Season 6. If you define “classic” as “the best era”, I’d say South Park STARTED really getting good with Season 6. Some people say the golden age ends at Season 10 or so, but I’d say everything up to 17 stays broadly high quality and still feels the same, so I include it in my “golden age”, which ends when the show delves into serialization.

Well, Stan and Kyle have always been supposed to be “the boring normal ones” where as Cartman and Kenny were “the funny ones”.

Of these, Stan can be considered the most “normal” simply because he’s the most generic. Kyle is Jewish, Cartman is fat, and Kenny is poor. Stan is a blank slate.
