As a person who went through IVF myself, my guess would be that if this were filmed a year ago, the baby isn’t born yet. There are a lot of tests and procedures the women will have to go through — and while they could probably speed it up by having the surrogate start the tests while the egg donor is still getting her eggs retrieved, I don’t see it all getting done in less than three months, especially if the first retrieval is unsuccessful, which is VERY common. I had my first retrieval in September of last year, and as of yesterday am 32 weeks pregnant (woohoo!). So the surrogate could be pretty far along but I’m betting no baby yet.

Just curious, I haven’t watched every episode this season — do they explain why Kenny and Armando are doing IVF (taking out the eggs, making embryos, then putting them back in) as opposed to IUI (the medical version of the turkey baster)? IVF is way more expensive, invasive, and takes longer, and is usually more for infertility.

Some vegans won’t use any animal products ever, but some will make an exception on certain, non-lethal animal products if they know it comes from a humane source, like small batch beekeepers like Anna and Mursel!
