Same!! And it was so predictable, blows my MIND that people could enjoy it

Probably Dr Paul Kalanithi, author of “When Breath Becomes Air”. An autobiography about finishing his residency, being diagnosed with cancer and starting a family. I know a big message in the book is that he doesn’t want pity, however he seemed like an amazing man who deserved so much more time to appreciate the life he created with his wife.
I loved The Three Body series. The third book was definitely my favourite. It’s weird to read a book with almost no character development, but conceptually it was so interesting. I generally read character heavy books, so I thought it was almost a nice break. I do usually read 2-3 books at a time however, so maybe it helps to “take breaks” that way. It seems like you like sci-fi, I’d say push through to the end! The third book is wild.
Ya unfortunately standard where we are too! Pretty much why I’m a stay at home mom 🥴
The Count of Monte Cristo and Anna Karenina! Put off for obvious reasons, loved them both.
The book gets better! If anything, hang on for the third book. I’m in the last 50 pages and it’s amazing.
Wow this is the crossover I needed
In Somebody Else’s Shoes by Jojo Moyes she says “ruddy” while describing a face SO OFTEN. It was all I could pay attention to at the end.
