At this point we can only hope that at some point his estate commissions a or some renowned fantasy authors to finish out the series. Sanderson comes to mind as someone who could potentially finish it out but I’m not sure anyone would even want to.
Not an author but I generally check out books from the library when I read them and I really enjoy them, I buy a copy as a bookshelf trophy.
Of course there are some authors I will buy without reading it first.
In like 5th grade I reach the whole Cirque Du Freak series in 12 days. I would check out a book from the library, read the entire thing in a day, and then repeat and read the whole series in 12 days. I probably could have read them faster but the school library would only let us check out one book of a series at a time (students at the time were trying to check out all of the Harry Potter series so they didn’t have to wait to read them).

I would recommend reading The Hobbit first. The Hobbit is fast paced and entertaining the entire time. LOTR is unbelievable but slow, and the Hobbit will help you get into the universe and appreciate it.
