The way he try’s to call her bougee because she wants an indoor bathroom? And it doesn’t sound like she was raised rich, more like she was raised better than Rob and he’s trying to make the leap bigger than what it is. “You’re used to apartments in Dubai and Spain, but in poor America, we use communal bathrooms…” He has no ambitions to better in his life and I hope she see’s that before it’s too late…

He is so weird. The hoodiest of poor hood apartments that I have ever been to all had indoor toilets.

That’s what I’m saying, I’ve never heard of anyone in a major US city without plumbing in the apartment. He looks like he’s in a storage closet….

Listen those are still way better than Rob’s set up. I had a friend who lived in a room in Brooklyn and it was still better than Rob’s place.

Yes. 😊. I have stayed in some military temporary family housing (prior barracks) and it was communal showers, completely open. Lol. That Rob is a smug little mf’er too.

Pretty sure whatever he is renting is illegal. I think you have to have a bathroom to rent it as a unit?

I live in LA and I know that there are legal SROs (single room occupancy), but they’re usually converted hotels or other legal dwellings. There’s usually shared bathrooms on the floor. But Rob’s situation feels illegal because the bathroom isn’t even attached to the dwelling. I work in law, so tomorrow I’m going to see if there’s a building code about this.

Oh please report back! I’d be interested to know as he is on tv if it is illegal, LOL. Feels illegal.

I am pretty sure you can have a JADU without a bathroom in the unit as long as they have access to a bathroom elsewhere on the property

I just looked up JADU, and if it is that, there’s a problem still. It says that in a JADU, you can “share a bathroom with the single family home.” The bathroom Rob has is clearly not attached to another dwelling, right? It’s basically an outhouse.

Idk, I am not sure what the law considers shared, if it is on the same property it might count but a JADU is supposed to be attached to the house so maybe the bathroom must be too not sure

I was going to say this. At least in the state I live in - rentals have to have a working full bathroom and bedrooms have to have windows.

On another thread someone said it’s covered under the housing laws as a “habitable room” or “habitable space” no toilet, no individual utilities. Probably 5-700 a month

It’s because he lives in a garage. He literally lives in a renovated garage/shed. I’m sure the rent is quite low. Rob the knob needs a better paying job.
