Eve’s powers are so weird, makes no sense but it doesnt matter. She can destroy the economy, jobs, by just doing good things. She has the strongest power imo.

I mean, at the base level he is right. Eve thinks she can fix the entire world with her powers when there are rules and regulations in place for a reason. There is nothing wrong with having principles, wanting to do honest work to provide for your family, and not wanting your super powered daughter to try to handle every problem in the world with her powers.

Now if only he wasn’t a complete misogynistic asshole and terrible father. Good intentions only get you so far

I mean. If the city did it’s job, and kept the garbage off the sinkhole or you know. Posted signs saying it’s a sinkhole or something. The problem may have been avoided too. Eve says she can make people into completely different people. So I’m sure if she knew the ground was unstable she could have changed the atomic makeup to make it stable.

I kind of get not wanting to depend on your daughter’s powers, not only because of dumb pride, but fear of exploitation, scrutiny from the gov’t, but they did a good job of filtering his anxieties to make everything he says sound bad.

It was a misdirected principle and ego. She truly wants to help. And they are her parents.

It definitely could’ve been worse. Her dad who stands on pride isn’t as bad as a dad that uses her as a human ATM as soon as she developed her powers.
