This episode is my favorite example of Mark being a fucking moron.
Come on Mark. You can count the number of people who know you are a superhero on one hand. The only one of them who lives in space and knows you like Seance Dog is your fucking father. Why in the FUCK didn’t you catch onto that?
This episode was the most “filler episode” one they have done so far, and I LOVE how they decided to fuck around with it so we wouldn’t get bored. They needed to have an episode that covers transitional events that just put characters into the places where they needed to be for future stories and yet they were able to do so in a way that I might actually want to rewatch some day.

The mindset that health is somehow bigotry is EXACTLY the reason we need more shows dealing with losing weight.
Overweight people should not be deluded into believing they are healthy at any size. When I was fat I needed a wakeup call to tell me that I needed to change, and I am glad that I did. I completely forgot what it was like to be able to walk to the grocery store without keeling over in exhaustion just outside of my driveway.
My Dad couldn’t really wrap his head around the fact that there are comic franchises other than Marvel or DC.
I feel like it is more likely that Invincible will do a cameo in a Spiderman show someday. It would be much, much easier for Kirkman to bite the bullet and let a Spiderman show have Mark for an episode than it would be to get Spiderman in Invincible.
It reminds me of Warhammer 40k Tyrranids.

I NEVER thought I would agree with Eve’s father completely. I was shocked when he delivered that line. Ever really did need to be told that things aren’t as simple as she thinks they are.
I actually like Doc Seismic in this episode. It shows that he never had anything close to a solid point in his first appearance- he was always just a stark-raving-mad lunatic. All of his racism and historical revisionism about American Presidents was just an excuse to destroy shit.
Abraham Lincoln had a lot of very competent generals and he listened to them.
At one point in time an inventor showed a lever-action rifle to the President. Lincoln, recognizing immediately that rapid-fire capability and magazines would immediately change warfare, declared that it be adopted. His generals, not appreciating the new invention, said no. He listened to the generals.
I love the detail here that Mr. Wok is a vaguely Latino/African instead of just staying Asian, because he has always just been a white guy with multiple personalities pretending to be Asian.
People tend to be a lot more imaginative when they are 12 vs when they are 19. She also has 7 years more experience than she did when she just started.
The version of Eve we see in Season 1 isn’t playing around. She has found the most straightforward way to fight and isn’t very interested in creative flourish just to look cool.
I like to imagine that Nolan was always a little dissatisfied with the Viltrumite Empire, even if it was subconscious. He would still be completely unwilling to turn traitor until after his fight with Mark, but I imagine he wrote their weaknesses into his books because some small part of him hoped they would eventually be found and read by people capable of resisting Viltrumite rule.
