    I liked Kosta’s set but it’s a bit hard to compare given how the strike changed the pool of guests available.

      Kosta’s interview with Ian Bremmer was great. Very frank and open about his shortcomings in understanding. “For a long time, it was convenient for me to ignore it, and now I can’t ignore it anymore.” That really resonated with me.

      He’s too sarcastic to host tds though imo. Would love to see him on a colbert report type show

      Yeah Roy or bust. I was on Minhaj train, that one went of the rails and whatever the fallout is or the counter counter backlash or whatever, he’s not gonna get the spot now, even though he would have been great at it imo. Roy was always a close, close second for me and it’s past time they picked somebody.

      I wonder, though. When Klepper had on “Stoic Dad” author Ryan Holiday, it definitely seemed like he did so out of a personal connection with Holiday’s writing.

      They absolutely do. Trevor didn’t always choose every guest (of course there is cross-platform promotion), but he had a big say in who he interviewed.

      Likewise, the guest hosts are choosing who to interview. How many times have you heard “I wanted to have you on because…”

      Kosta interviewed that adventure wilderness guy because he went on his guided trip. You think CC found that guy on their own and wanted to promote his outdoor wilderness project?

        I always thought it was funny how many absolutely beautiful black women Trevor interviewed. I don’t know anything about his private life but that couldn’t have been a coincidence.

        Unless you have personal knowledge that the host picks the guests, I would assume TDS works like every other program and has full time booking producers. I’m not saying hosts can’t pick guests occasionally but that’s definitely the exception (just based on the way other shows work).
