After initial humor of “closet mom”, this storyline is really more than stupid or unbelievable.
If there is no other solution (financially) for this son and mom to co-habitat, one bedroom apt can be easily made into comfy mom in bedroom and son on sofabed in living room. WHO would ever ask their mom to sleep on the floor in a CLOSET!!!
PS: we need more backstory on this duo… like what the hell is that messy floor to ceiling pile up in storage unit? Did I miss any info regarding them?
I don’t think it’s unbelievable at all. As mentioned, the mom is a hoarder, which occurs as a result of or in tandem with other mental health issues. Judging by the poor state of her teeth, she’s probably had a lot of struggles, and if she is working, it’s likely not much more than minimum wage. He obviously loves his mom and wants to help her, but also probably doesn’t want to upgrade his apartment and lock into a permanent living situation. Right now, the space is small, and there are lots of animals, so the hoard is pretty under control, but with her own room, it would likely get out of hand quickly.
If they mentioned it on the show, I missed it as well. I was wondering if Closet Mom’s home was foreclosed on or she was evicted from an apartment and they moved all her belongings into storage?
If they are so financially strapped to be a in one bedroom, how then can he be affording the K-1 process?
You only need to make like 22k/year. I make way way more than that and can only afford a one bedroom within like 3 hours of where i live now, that part doesn’t seem weird to me.
Hoarders are going to hoard a space, who knows if there’s an apartments worth of stuff in there or it’s all trash, also not surprising based on the circumstances.
The info you missed is the very obvious signs that the mom is a hoarder.
Actually, I DID see the part about mom’s hoarding problem and saw the piles in the living room. But, I still think he could have given her the bedroom, which would contain her stuff (other than the storage unit). And the rest of apt could be maintained. Of course, the pens for pets take up room too.
Apparently,as much as he hates the mess, he might have given up and its overtaking him too.
I have a hoarder in my family (cousin) and its amazing how his brain convinces him that he “HAS TO KEEP” every little thing, even wrappers for cookies… “just in case”.

A simple “what are your professional plans here?”, or a nice phrasing that assumes he has some certification and left a career in Panama like “can you continue your career here? Do you need to validate some of your certifications here?”.
I’m American and I found the statement completely off-putting. Especially coupled with the cowboy hat knockoff he was wearing, lol. 🤡🤠 Even if Jasmine’s plans are to be a SAHM with her kids, that’s between her and Gino.
I live a stones throw away from Ginos’s area and I can’t remember if I’ve ever seen a guy wearing a cowboy hat except for maybe Halloween.
It funny they’re trying to make his Midwest town like some kind of stereotypical rural, hick good ol’ boy type place. lol.
I hate this tired Korean parent acceptance plot line again they’re playing with these two. They did the same with the other Devin which was a hell of a lot more believable than this story.
I married a Korean guy and unless you’re from the farm and super old school they could care less their kids marry an American, especially a White American. A lot of them actually PREFER it too, which is why AMWF / AWWM couples are probably the highest interracial relationships in any Asian countries.
I am Mexican but I look pretty white, but when I went over there it was insane the amount of racism I had to deal with. If this girl was Black or something else I’d 100% believe this story line but I just have a feeling “they’re boring” and had to push this story for something.
I hate that I am defending SS BUT Nikki’s behavior is beyond gross and sexually abusive.
