adding onto the theory that bj died in the pool. during the view from halfway down, the opening scene is bojack with sarah lynn giving bea a hydrangea. even tho hydrangeas are poisonous to horses. this and the bird flying into the house, i’ve seen a lot of ppl interrupte as a symbol for death. which even if bojack didn’t die, it still makes a lot of sense considering everyone in TVFHD is dead.
Everything symbolises death in this episode because Bojack thinks he is going to die. It would defeat the point of the show for him to die and not be responsible for the things he did.
This doesn’t add or detract from what you’ve said, but someone once said the hydrangea represents Hollyhock. I can’t remember how that even begins to make sense, but it always struck me as true, at least because of the pink on her nose and because Beatrice doesn’t like the plant at all.
