Rob doesn’t seem to like Sophie right? His digs about bringing her down to earth, his comment of seemingly punishing her by living in that studio unless she asks family for money, him arguing with everything she says and always having to be right, and him having 0 tolerance for any conversation that matters to her. Either he just doesn’t like her, or there is one of those weird manosphere mindsets about her being young and needing to be directed.

Also though their relationship highlights a problem I’ve had with the 90DF universe for a while. Producers and edits heavily focus on the problems a couple has, and we have very few moments (if any) of seeing the good in any of these couples relationships which makes it impossible to root for almost anyone.

    I don’t think those things mean he doesn’t love her. He’s being defensive and reactionary. I’m sure he’d love to give her a mansion on the beach but reality is he can’t afford it. Not even sure how the hell he afforded the visa when he can’t even afford a house with a bathroom. To him that’s boogie because that’s how he lived all his life. To hear her say she wants more than he can provide hurts and scares him. He’s afraid of not being good enough of losing her or things not working out but instead of communicating those things in a healthy way he turns it into an attack on her. He may not even realize what he’s doing or he may be doing it intentionally to control her and if he breaks her down he might feel like she won’t leave him and start thinking she’s lucky to have him or etc.

      This is a really interesting perspective and I appreciate you pointing it out. There is probably a lot of truth to what you’re saying but I’m really triggered by him so it’s hard for me to see what’s probably underneath it all.

      He moved to LA 3 years ago. I bet her had indoor bathrooms in KC. If he’s really such a scared insecure little dude he can work on that instead of wanting a therapist of a girlfriend to work his issues out on.

        Yeah I’m not excusing his behavior. She needs to leave. I just see a lot of these posts say he seems annoyed or unhappy or doesn’t like her isn’t attracted to her and I’m just saying it’s not a matter of liking or not liking someone it’s deeper than that.
