Debbie’s breakdown near the end hurt so much. The poor woman has been repressing so much of the trauma she went through and is just as much a victim of Omni-Man (especially after learning of his murders and being dehumanized with the “she’s more like a pet to me” line), she finally has a place where she can open up, and Theo threatens her when she spills her heart saying “it won’t be a safe space for you.” I guess that’s why they have the last name rule…
I get it: he’s traumatized himself since he lost Alannah and like he said, “you’re allowed to be angry,” but his anger is also VERY misdirected here. I guess he’s looking for someone to direct it towards since Nolan obviously can’t be that person, so Debbie was the logical one, but Jesus…she really can’t catch a break this season
Here I thought after the meeting they’d get into a relationship :(
To be honest, I find it hard to sympatize with him. If his wife died a week or even a month ago, maybe I’d understand his actions, but it’s been a year. He should’ve had enough common sense to not immediately attack Debbie. Did it not occur to him that she’s also a victim?
