I figured, the name “Invincible” refers to his willpower. No matter how much he suffers, he still continues fighting evil.
Mark wouldn’t even join his side as a teenager. If he had lived a superhero life for decades, it would’ve been basically impossible to get him to switch sides.
I guess he was just desperate to have a family again.
Relatively Hard to Injure
Maybe Cecil wants Mark to be broken so he would be more obedient and hard-working. It wouldn’t be the first time he did shady things.
If we can have a Mexican stereotype Pokemon (Ludicolo), we can have a Jewish stereotype Chinpokomon.
He brought a Spanish dictionary just so he could trash talk accurately. I’m more impressed than anything.
I don’t know if Earth can afford Mark’s retirement. Cecil’s strongest weapons could only slow Omni Man down and it’s only a matter of time until more viltrumites come to Earth. Mark is one of the few hopes that the planet has. Yeah, he’s a weakling compared to his dad, but he will get stronger and more experienced.
But yeah, if I had that much pressure on me, I’d probably flee the planet. 😅
I don’t know if I would describe that as selfishness. If he went along with every alien who asked for his help, would he have time to live his own life? He said he was going to be gone for a few weeks.
To be honest, I find it hard to sympatize with him. If his wife died a week or even a month ago, maybe I’d understand his actions, but it’s been a year. He should’ve had enough common sense to not immediately attack Debbie. Did it not occur to him that she’s also a victim?
Well, the episode is making fun of wokeness, so he’s only gonna miss half of it.
I don’t think seeing Mark beaten up made her feel any better…
Eve is a person, not a tool. Then again, we are discussing utilitarianism…
The human body can’t even accept an incompatible blood type from another human. Viltrumite blood would probably have an even worse effect.
Jimmy doesn’t have the N-word pass, only the R-word pass.
Omni Man is strong, but he’s not taking down the Viltrum Empire by himself. Even if he teamed up with Earth’s heroes, the odds would not be in his favor. He was stuck between a rock and a hard place.
Invincible is meant to be a superhero show with more realistic consequences. Of course the heroes, especially younger ones, are gonna get brutalized.
You answered your own question. Even if you take empathy and morality out of the equation, healing the sick and injured is necessary for a functioning society.
