He could never understand what she sacrificed and lost for her powers, and asks her to stop using them. When helping people is the one thing that might bring her some peace.
Also, who just verbally insults their kid all day everyday anytime. It’s like he lives to insult Eve for no reason. I feel as if Eve endured it for so long, was because it’s so small to her and her understanding of the world.
I don’t say parents, because her adopted mom is a victim too. Dealing with her own issues and subject to her husbands personal abuse as well. She could leave, but it could take the voice of some one else or even professionals to realize that.
This back story is such great writing and insight to a major character.
I really hated him in the comics because of how misogynistic he was and I hate the show version just as much if I’m being honest
I feel like I hate him more in the show than in the comics. Why? Because of the emotion that we get to hear in the tv show. In the comics we can dial it down in our head. But once we face the reality of hearing what he says with the tone of voice. It makes me want to hurt him.
I’m not confident, but I get this feeling we’re not supposed to like him.
It’s pretty obvious.
By portraying him that unsympathic is the best way to understand why Eve doesn’t want to live at home and how it shapes her character - probably not even in a good way-.
Nah, Kirkmann and the rest clearly just have a hard time writing him.
Big if true
Is he just as bad/worse in the comics? He makes the Eve family scenes frustrating to watch.
