If you’re like me & have spent many hungover Sunday mornings watching Golden Girls reruns then you might be able to relate to what this situation reminds me of. The episode where Dorothy dates Eddie. An odd, short, bald, plain looking guy with a little belly & like Gino a weak sounding voice. The only big difference is that he’s older. Doriothy becomes unexplainably obsessed with him. Her roommates can’t understand it until they all get fed up at the end trying to dump him for her, but one by one become instantly infatuated with him one by one themselves lol.
What’s F’d up about this though isn’t so much that she’s attracted to Gino for being typically considered not attractive. It’s that she feels this way because she is so painfully insecure & triggered with such mind boggling jealousy of her partners that she feels an “ugly” (her words in another episode) guy is less likely to cheat or to trigger her. Though clearly even with Gino it doesn’t seem to be working.
