Physical cheating just hurts most of us in a different way. He didn’t do her any favors by soliciting inappropriate videos from women. She should’ve interpreted that as she’s not really important to him. She made it clear if he did it again she’d be done, and he was willing to risk that. I hate that she forgave him, but he’s taking advantage of her naïveté. If she was a bit older or wiser, she would’ve never gotten with him to begin with. He brings nothing but grief.
For it to happen one time, I could see talking it over extensively and trying to work back trust. The second time? So disrespectful considering she DID express how much it hurt her. Too late. I’ve been there and done that. But it was a HUGE learning experience for me and I’ve learned to recognize it and never let it happen to me again. Watching this is like watching what I went through all over again and it breaks my heart. I just hope that Sophie can come out of this and learn from it as well.
I believe she will. She’s a smart and capable woman with at least some good support in her mom. She knows what she should do, but like you and I (assuming), she feels trapped and is blinded by his manipulation or what she’s interpreting as “love”. She has lots of time to figure it out still.
